PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of jamming even to bills with a large thickness in appearance and a low rigidity by providing a ring-form friction member deformable elastically at least at the circumference of one side roller. CONSTITUTION:When a check roller 1 is rotated, a friction member 11 is contacted to a groove 1b by the pushing force of a roller 12, and rotated together with the check roller 1 by the contact resistance. When bills rush in between the check rollers 1 and 2, the tips of the bills deform the rotating friction member 11 from the point x to the point o. Since the depth l1 of a groove 1a and the depth l2 of the groove 1b is l2>l1, the force necessary to the deformation is small and no influence is given to the rushing of bills. Consequently, since the variation of the distance between the shafts of the check rollers 1 and 2 is purely the variation of the thickness of the bills, the detecting ability is never hurt. In this case, since the upper side of the bills after rushing in between the check rollers 1 and 2 is pressed by the elasticity of the friction member 11, they can be conveyed without generating a jamming by the friction member 11. |
