PURPOSE:To improve yellowing characteristic of white printed parts, to improve resistance to fluctuation of processing, and to reduce the content of Ag of a silver halide photographic sensitive material by incorporating a specified Magenta coupler into one of silver halide emulsion layers and adding inorganic S at an optional period of time before the layer is formed. CONSTITUTION:A Magenta coupler expressed by formula I is incorporated into at least one of silver halide emulsion layers, and inorganic S is added at an optional period of time before the layer is formed. In formula I, Ar1 is an aryl group; X1 is a halogen atom., alkoxy group, or alkyl group, etc.; R1 is a group which can be substituted in a benzene ring; (n) is 1 or 2; when (n) is 2, R1 may be same or different group to each other; Y is a group which is eliminated by the coupling reaction with an oxidized body of a developing agent. Thus, yellowing of white printed parts is prevented, and a silver halide photographic emulsion having high resistance to fluctuation of processing and reduced Ag content is obtd. |
