PURPOSE:To secure the optimum output in a simple constitution by forming a driven shaft of a rotary compressor by a fixed pulley piece and a movable pulley piece, and fixing a driven side pulley moved by centrifugal force to the movable pulley piece, whereby the compression capacity is varied by centrifugal force. CONSTITUTION:As centrifugal force produced by rotation of a driven shaft 6 little acts on a sphere 32 of a compression capacity variable mechanism 28 during idling, the width of a groove portion 26 of a driven side pulley 16 is enlarged by a belt 8 pressed by urging means 24 for pressing a driven side movable pulley piece 14, so that the radius of gyration of a drive side pulley 10 becomes large and the radius of gyration of the driven side pulley 16 becomes small. Accordingly, the rotating speed of a compressor is increased so as to secure cooling capacity. On the other hand, during high-speed revolution, the sphere 32 of the compression capacity variable mechanism 28 is influenced by the action of centrifugal force to move a driven side movable pulley piece 20 to the fixed side, whereby the width of the groove is reduced so as to increase the radius of gyration and reduce compression capacity. Thus, suitable output can be always obtained. |
