PURPOSE:To easily generate a composite image of high quality by finding data regarding picture elements of the border part of superposed images and data indicating the presence direction of a picture element to be referred to for color mixture, and smoothing the border part according to those two data. CONSTITUTION:When a cut image A and a background image B are superposed on over the other to generate their composite image C, stored data at points on the border line are expanded in a bit map, etc., first and data inside the border lines as to all picture elements are written. Then variables are initialized and respective picture elements are processed; and then the contents of the image B are copied to an image C as to the decided part which are outside the border, and the contents of the image A as to the decided part which is inside the border are copied to the image C. Then, it is decided in which direction of the image A the color of picture elements at the border is to be referred to, the color of the image at the position shifted corresponding to the referring direction of the image A is found and denoted as (a), and the result (c) of the addition of the values (a) and the color (b) of the picture elements of the image B based upon a color mixture coefficient is drawn in the image C. Consequently, the composite image of high quality is easily generated. |
