This luminous object of the flame or torch type consists of a long rod 1 made of flameproof glass, closed at its bottom, inside which a candle 4 is positioned so as to float in a fluid 5 trapped in the said rod. This object may be attached to a support, in order to form a candlestick or a wall lamp. It can also be fitted, above the globe 3, with a laterally ventilated lid 3a, acting as a rain cover. <IMAGE>
