PURPOSE:To enable low-noise and high-speed recording, and improve reliability and durability, by detecting the rotational angle position of a stepping motor, and by performing closed loop control of the driving the stepping motor according to this detection result. CONSTITUTION:By an MPU 20, via a motor speed controlling circuit 23, the rotational speed of a carriage driving motor 1 is controlled to be the speed of a high-speed mode or a low-speed mode, and via a current switching circuit 24, the starting, stopping, and rotational direction of the carriage driving motor 1, namely, the starting, stopping, and moving direction of a carriage 2 are controlled. Besides, by the current switching circuit 24, according to the detection output of an encoder 25, the switching timing of the exciting current of the coil of the carriage driving motor 1 is closed-loop-controlled. |
