Method and circuit for operating a shearer loader hauled by roadway winches

Shearer loaders which are hauled back and forth over the face length by means of a hauling member of roadway winches move at a non-uniform feed rate on account of the change in the extension of the hauling member caused by the constantly changing travel resistance. Not only the cutting tools of the cutting drums but also the drive motor and reduction gearing of the two winches as well as of the shearer loader are therefore subjected constantly to shock-like loads. The novel method is intended to compensate for these fluctuations in the travelling speed of the shearer loader. It is proposed to determine the acceleration of the travelling movement of the shearer loader (1) exceeding a limit value and to utilise an electric signal corresponding to the acceleration for regulating the speed of the drive motor (10) of the respectively hauling roadway winch (9) and of the drive motor (4) of the cutting drums (3) of the shearer loader (1) in order to reduce the acceleration of the travelling movement of the shearer loader (1). <IMAGE>
