The radial facing slide is driven by a sliding rod in the machine spindle which is moved via a ball-rolling spindle or servohydraulically with the corresponding displacement measurement. The return movement and the holding-down without play is undertaken by a hydraulic piston in the facing head. The hydraulic medium is supplied through the machine spindle. The hydraulic piston is always pressurised in use and pushes the control rod of the facing head towards the NC rod of the machine spindle. The control rod moves the slide via helical gearings or via pinions.
