PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic having excellent emulsion stability, moisture retention, touch and high safety, by blending a cosmetic with alcohol-soluble protein. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic is blended with 0.01-20wt.% alcohol-soluble protein such as wheat protein or maize protein. The alcohol-soluble protein is obtained by blending gluten or maize protein with ak alcohol or a hydrous alcohol and separating insoluble substances by stirring, dispersing, centrifuging, etc., used in a solution as it is or dried, powdered and used. A surfactant which has been used as an emulsifying agent, humectant or emollient in a cosmetic is wholly or partially replaced with the alcohol-soluble protein. |
