A method for packing commission articles (3) in cartons (1) of standard size in a manner safe for transportation is characterised in that a film bag (4) with an outwardly leading mouthpiece (5) is applied on the commission articles (3) introduced into the carton (1). After the carton (1) has been closed by means of a cover part (10), the film bag (4) is inflated in order to fill up the empty volume and to secure the commission articles in position. When a predetermined pressure is reached in the film bag (4), the filling procedure is terminated and the mouthpiece (5) welded. The welded mouthpiece (5) is pushed into the inside of the carton, and the corresponding opening is then closed. The processing station (12) provided for the filling and welding and for the detection of the pressure can also have a timer device for ascertaining the leaktightness of a film bag (4). <IMAGE>
