PURPOSE: To obtain an effective result and a uniform operation when executing any chromatography process by providing a groove with a specific fluid path on the inner surface of a blocked edge part of a column member. CONSTITUTION: A column 1 includes a pair of entrance flange 2 and an exit flange 3 in one piece and edge plates 4 and 5 are placed at each of the flanges. The edge plates 4 and 5 communicate with an opening 7 provided at each center and a row of grooves 6 are provided radially in radius direction so that its dimension increases toward outside. The grooves 6 are wider toward the radius direction than at a center and are deep at the outermost position. Therefore, the flow of chemical product that flows in by the grooves 6 at the entrance edge 4 of the column 1 is dispersed uniformly and chemical products are collected uniformly at the flow-out edge 5. Therefore, by flowing a fluid from the edge plate 4 toward the edge plate 5 through the medium room of the column 1, the separation characteristics of the column 1 can be reinforced while executing a chromatography process. |
