The invention relates to an apparatus for the individual separation and introduction of components in the form of small rods, especially electrical components (MELF's), from an unordered quantity in receptacles of a carrier element, especially receptacles of a belt, with a transport device having at least two transport elements contiguous with one another, with transport-element receptacles formed on the transport elements and each rotating on a closed path of movement, with a feed position for the components on one transport element and with a dispensing position which is provided on the other transport element and at which the carrier element is moved past synchronously with the movement of the other transport element, in such a way that, whenever a transport-element receptacle of the other transport element has reached the dispensing position, a receptacle of the carrier element stands ready there. The invention is characterised in that the transport elements are directly contiguous with one another at a transitional region.
