In a device for carrying out a pneumatic flotation consisting of a separating cell having a discharge for the flotation tap-offs and having a foam collection channel and associated discharge and of at least one gassing reactor arranged outside the separating cell and connected to the separating cell for the heavy liquid to be floated, the turbulences occurring in the separating cell when the heavy liquid is input are to be avoided. For this purpose it is provided that a calming section (18) is connected between gassing reactor (17) and separating cell (11) in order to reduce the flow energy of the aerated heavy liquid.
