Neutralisation of paper - with alkaline mist using ph measurements for process control

The paper is allowed to run over a belt and exposed to the mist in >=1 stage and simultaneously, >=u pH measurement is made, the results regulating the amt. of soln. applied to the paper. This treatment is esp. useful for treating paper in roll form. A typical use is tissue paper for packing silver articles, which would cause tarnishing before neutralising the acid. Treatment does not cause desizing or impair the strength and colour of the paper.
