PURPOSE:To shorten time required for drying a molding, preventing crack generation of the molding and obtain a honeycomb structural body having high precise and filtration function, by closely covering a specific outside face of honeycomb-like molding obtained by using silicon carbide powder as main raw material, covering specific parts of the molding with a film having air-tight properties, drying and sintering the film-covered molding. CONSTITUTION:A plastic mixture obtained by adding a molding binder and medium liquid to a silicon carbide powder used as a main raw material is molded to the molding. Then a film having air-tight properties is closely covered on the outside face excluding end face having opening of through hole of the molding and the molding is dried to subject a medium liquid contained in the molding to removement by drying and then the molding is sintered. As the film having air-tight properties, e.g., synthetic resin film such as polyethylene, saran, polypropylene or nylon or metal thin film such as aluminum or copper can be used. |
