[Also in Division B3] A separating nozzle includes two walls 11, 12 forming a slit nozzle channel 21, which walls are joined together by spaced apart webs, one wall 11 having a rounded edge 14 and the wall 12 having a stripping knife edge 15, the edges 14, 15 together with an arcuately shaped adjacent wall surface forming a continuous deflection slit channel 16 of substantially U- shaped cross-section. Gaseous material passes through an opening 17 and passes to the channel 16 in a direction X1. Gas particles of higher molecular weight pass into a chamber 19 and lighter particles are deflected by the edge 15 into the channel 21. In an alternative construction the deflection channel 116 is formed in a wall part 113 and to maintain the edges 114, 115 accurately spaced apart, spacer elements 135 are inserted in the wall 113, preferably at the same locations as webs 126.</p> |
