PURPOSE:To always attain recording, reproducing and erasing with optimum light intensity even when the temperature of a medium is changed by providing a heat sensitive material in one part, detecting the medium temperature for the discoloration of this material and controlling the intensity of an optical beam projected to the recording medium, in correspondence to a detected result. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium 11, in which information is recorded or reproduced by projecting the optical beam, is housed and a heat sensitive material 26 discolored when the temperature is changed is provided on one part. By projecting the optical beam to the optical recording medium 11 housed in a cartridge 22, an optical information processor, which records, reproduces or erases the information, detects the temperature from the discolora tion of the heat sensitive material 26 and controls the intensity of the optical beam projected to the recording medium 11 in correspondence to the detected result. Thus, the temperature of the medium itself is easily detected and the information can be recorded, reproduced or erased with the optimum light intensity. |
