PURPOSE:To provide a signal peptide comprising a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence consisting of 15 amino acids and having a strong ability to accelerate the secretion of proteins. CONSTITUTION:A signal peptide consists of 15 amino acids wherein the first amino acid is methionine M; the second amino acid is arginine G; the 13th amino acid is alanine A, serine S, valine V or threonine T; the 15th amino acid is glycine G, alanine A, serine S or cysteine C and all or at least most of the third-12th and 14th amino acids are constituted from a kink of hydrophobic amino acid. The signal peptide is preferably represented by the formula I or II.
