The roofing plate is of a length equal to the distance between ridge and gutter, and is of very lightweight. Waste material can be employed, to form an insulating plate, in different thicknesses and thus providing varying degrees of insulation. It is prefabricated complete with tile slats, and clamped between the rafters, allowing removal by hand, e.g. when escaping from fire.
