<p>PURPOSE:To simplify manufacturing steps by forming a resistor film on a porcelain body, then trimming its outer peripheral part, forming an insulation resin layer on the outer periphery of the trimmed part, plating the parts exposed near the both ends to form external electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A resistor film 12 is formed on a columnar porcelain body 11, and its intermediate part is trimmed at 13. Then, an insulation resin layer 14 is formed on the whole periphery of the part, and external electrodes 15 are provided by plating the protruding parts from both ends. Since the layer 14 operates as a plating resist in the plating process, its unnecessary part is not plated. Thus, steps of manufacturing a metal cap and press-fitting the cap as separate steps can be omitted, thereby simplifying the manufacturing steps. Further, an irregularity in the dimensional accuracy occurs in the formation of the external electrode by press-fitting the cap, but in this case, since the external electrodes are formed by the plating, its dimensional accuracy is enhanced.</p> |
