A gyratory cone crusher is characterised in that the crushing shells (4, 5) defining the crushing space are so designed tha the space width at the entrance to the gap (6) is maintained substantially unchanged when the crushing head (2) is raised to compensate for wear. To this end the working surfaces of the crushing shells are so formed that the extensions (f, f1) of radially opposite generatrices (g, g1) to the working surfaces are substantially parallel or form such a small angle that the space entrance width (a, a1) is substantially constant regardless of the axial position of the crushing head. <IMAGE> |
