PURPOSE:To improve the adhesive strength and wear resistance of a stainless steel film by forming the film of stainless steel on the plane part of a discoid Al alloy under reduced pressure by means of plasma thermal spraying. CONSTITUTION:Stainless steel powder is plasma-sprayed under reduced pressure on the plane part (a plane to be in contact with a brake pad) of an Al alloy previously formed into a discoid state, by which a film of the stainless steel is formed. By this method, porosity is lowered because contamination with air is prevented, and, as a result, a dense film layer can be formed. Further, since the presence of oxide as a mixture can be prevented, high adhesive strength can be obtained at the boundary between a brake disk body and the film. Accordingly, a brake disk made of Al alloy lightened in weight, having superior corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and excellent in adhesive strength can be provided. |
