REAGENT AND METHOD FOR MEASURING WHITE CELL AND HEMOGLOBIN IN BLOOD

PURPOSE:To simultaneously measure the number of white cells and hemoglobin in blood by the same sample for measurement by forming a reagent for measurement of an aq. mixture contg. a specific polyoxyethylene nonionic surfactant and buffer. CONSTITUTION:The reagent for measuring the number of white cells and hemoglobin in blood is the aq. mixture contg. the polyoxyethylene nonionic surfactant expressed by the formula I and the buffer to adjust the pH of the aq. soln. to 3-11. The buffer to adjust the pH of the aq. soln. to 5-11 is incorporated into this reagent in the case of measuring the eosinophilic leukocyte in particular among the white cells. In the formula I, R1 is an alkyl or alkenyl or alkinyl group of 6-24C; R2 is the formula II; n is 6-50 integer. The number of white cells and hemoglobin in the blood are simultaneously measured by the same sample for measurement.
