An apparatus for heating and/or drying wet, finely distributed material, for example organic material, comprises a stationary housing 2 with a rotatable, hollow rotor 3 for supplying 4 and removing 5 heat transfer medium and if applicable condensate 6 thereof, and in which the rotor has annular drying bodies 10 which are parallel-fed with the heat transfer medium from a central duct 11.
