PURPOSE:To enlarge vibration isolating effect, by sticking a piezoelectric effect element, of which the resistor is connected to the electrode, to the surface of a supporting plate of a vibration isolator. CONSTITUTION:In a vibration isolator an object 3 is mounted onto the surface of a supporting plate 1 and an elastic member 2 is fitted to the back of the supporting plate 1 and is supported onto a floor face 4. The vibration transmitted along the floor face 4 is thereby damped with the elastic member 2 and the propagation of the vibration to the object 3 is prevented. On this occasion, a bimorph 5 is stuck to the fitted section of the elastic member 2 at the back of the supporting plate 1. Both terminals of the resistor 6 are connected to electrodes 5a-5b of this bimorph 5. Residual vibration is thereby so caused to the bimorph 5 by the external force, etc., that the alternating voltage generates across the electrodes 5a-5b, which is consumed through the resistor 6 in generating discharging Joule heat. As a result, the vibration of the bimorph 5 is damped. |
