A cyclically calling interrogator controls information from several locations to several different locations. Interrogation points with associated cycle ranks are controlled according to the rank in cycles from the first to the n-th. In each time interval cycle, the information called from each location is counted once. In dependence on this, the interrogation points are connected to the next higher or pref. the next lower rank. If no information is received from a set point, that point is skipped next time. Additionally, a marker bit is stored, and if the point is again interrogated in order with the marker bit found, the calling point is skipped once again with the marker bit quenched.
