<p>PURPOSE:To transmit a still picture at a high speed and with high quality, by reading, a data in the line direction at every bit showing the weight of the data, against all sampled data of the still picture, then compressing and transmitting them. CONSTITUTION:In the transmitting side, a picture signal inputted from an input terminal 10 is converted to a digital signal represented by weight of 2<0>-2<n> in accordance with signal information at every sample point by an A/D converter 1, and accumulated in a memory 2, a bit state is read out at every stage showing the weight of a data, and it is sent to a compressor. Subsequently, the data is compressed 4 at every line and is transmitted from a circuit sending-out circuit 5. On the other hand, in the receiving side, compressed data which are received 6 are stretched 7, respectively, and a digital sampled data of one picture is generated successively from weight bit information of each stage, and is accumulated. This data is read out in order in the scanning direction, is D/A- converted 9, and a picture signal corresponding to an input picture signal is obtained.</p> |
