This invention concerns friction wheels, including parts, shaped like a planet gear. The aim is for such wheels, fitted instead of a planet gear with cylindrical gear wheels, to lend themselves to the fastest step to multi-step gears. The invention is characterised by the concave shape of the planet wheels (5) being envelope surfaced longitudinally, thereby endeavouring to make the sun wheel (1, 2, 3, 4) including a wedge mechanism simple and short in the axial direction, to also function as a disconnection (2, 9) if needed.<IMAGE>
