PURPOSE:To stabilize the silver halide photographic emulsion against deterioration due to development by subjecting a silver halide particle to ostwald aging at a condition that the solubility of silver bromide is less than 3.2X10<-4>mol./l, and then more than 3.2X10<-4>mol./l. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide particle is formed by subjecting the particle to the ostwald aging at the conditions that the solubility of silver bromide is less than 3.2X10<-4>mol./l, and then more than 3.2X10<-4>mol./l. More preferably, the particle is subjected to the ostwald aging at the conditions that pBr is <=1.0 and an ammonia concn. is <1.3mol./l, for <=5min. Thus, the excellent stability of the photographic emulsion against sensitivity, fogging and deterioration is obtd. |
