The present invention relates to a device for producing a container, particularly a coffin or a coffin lining, which includes a base and a surround consisting of a plurality of flaps each connected to the said base by a rectilinear line. According to the invention: a) a metal sheet is cut out so that it has a general convex polygon shape corresponding to the developed shape of the base and of the surround 3 of the container 7 around the said rectilinear lines, b) those parts of the said sheet 1 corresponding to the said surround 3 are folded at least substantially at a right angle with respect to the said base 2, so as to form each of the said flaps 3a-3f and gussets 5a-5f between two adjacent flaps, and c) each of the said gussets 5a-5f between two adjacent flaps is folded down against one or other of the said flaps. The invention applies to the production of containers. |
