A resistor for arc welding regulates the flow rate of electric current according to the horizontal welding work or the vertical welding work. The resistor comprises a tubular casing (1) sealed by insulation caps (5) with threaded rods (4) at its both ends. A tubular insulator (2) filled with resistant (3) is mounted within the casing. Conductor layer (6) is disposed between the resistant and the insulation caps. Nuts (7) for the wire cunnection are prepared onto the threaded rod.
