<p>The decorative systems consist of >=1 paste layer contg. decorative plates or spangles and >=1 layer of a finishing varnish. Pref. >=1 paint layer modified by an agent to make it adhere to the wall or ceiling surface, esp. 5-20% of an abrasive of particle size 500 esp. 20-300 mu, is applied first, followed by a paste contg. 5-35% of coloured plates of mean diam.0.5-30 mm. The paste contains solvents chosen from aliphatic, aromatic and cycloaliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, esters or ketones, and a film-forming binder consisting of >=1 polymer. The binder is pref. acrylic homo- or copolymer or vinyl acetate copolymer, in emulsion. The finishing varnish pref. contains >=1 acrylic constituent in soln. or emulsion, or is of the polyurethane type in >=1 constituent. The layers may be applied by brush or roller.</p> |
