<p>In the process, hot gas is injected into the mass through a tube with a profiled, perforated end-piece. Because of the intimate contact obtained between the hot gas and the pills to be dried, a considerable saving is effected in the heat needed in the gas circuit. The end-piece is shaped so that it presents the least possible resistance to the moving mass. As the vessel rotates, the pills are carried forward until they reach a certain height, and they then fall back by gravity. The hot gas infiltrates the mass, dries the pills and escapes toward a gas extraction pipe, carrying with it the vapours resulting from the drying operation.</p> |
