The application has the purpose of optimising the wind energy and of replacing the monstrous-looking generators on individual masts with an aesthetically pleasing quasi-windmill building in which the entire drive mechanism is accommodated. The main characteristic of the invention is the generator drive. Rotatably mounted at the upper end of the vertical generator axle is a double-sided lever beam which divides the lever beam into two lever arms of equal length. Proceeding an equal distance on each side from the axle bearing is located, at right angles to the beam, in each case one arm which is connected to the generator armature frame. The double-sided lever beam is caused to rotate by the V-belt wheels, the grooved friction wheels rolling over the stationary V-belt. The lever beam rotating in this manner simultaneously causes the generator armature to rotate. The armature engagement point is thus situated outside the G-armature. When the generator diameter is correspondingly larger, the cutting speed between the magnetic field and the armature accelerates. With the lever rotational engagement the ratio "input to output" is reduced advantageously with constant "output". A variable moment-of-inertia device is provided.
