The invention concerns a resilient or padded insert for footwear, as well as a process for its production and fine adjustment to the wearer's foot. The insert is composed of individual beads of a thermoplastically deformable, resilient foam material. The beads (2) have a closed surface (3) essentially impermeable to air and are fixed in their mutual positions under the influence of heat during sintering.
