The invention relates to a method of adhesively bonding sheet-like textile materials (3) to sheet-like supporting materials (1). The textile materials (3) are in this case unpolar or at least not very polar, i.e. they do not respond, or respond only a little, to high-frequency fields with respect to heat generation. For the adhesive bonding, an adhesive layer (7) is introduced between the textile material and the supporting material (1), the adhesive layer (7) containing a heat-reactivatable adhesive. The adhesive layer (7) and/or the supporting material (1) is in each case to consist of a polar substance. During the bonding operation, the materials lie against each other and are subjected to an electromagnetic high-frequency field (10). This high-frequency field (10) is dimensioned in such a way with respect to its intensity and wavelength that the adhesive layer (7) is heated for adhesive bonding. As a result, the thermal energy required for the adhesive bonding is generated directly in the region of the adhesive joint.
