Safety switching device for motor vehicles with engine-dependent tailgate

The invention relates to motor vehicle technology. The field of application is motor vehicles, agricultural machinery and mobile working machinery which are equipped with an engine-dependent tailgate and a deactivation device according to ECE 18. The essential features of the invention consist in the fact that a closed circuit switch for the tailgate is arranged between the ignition starter steering lock and a directional control solenoid valve which is assigned to switching off the engine, which closed circuit switch is connected to a relay and can be activated via the reversing light switch or the starter protection switch. The magnet of the directional control valve is in the first place actuated directly by the ignition starter steering lock and in another position of the ignition starter steering lock the magnet is actuated via the closed circuit switch of the tailgate when in the closed state. The actuation is interrupted by the relay when the reversing light switch or the starter protection switch is closed. The switches are prevented from influencing one another by diodes which are connected downstream of each of these switches. <IMAGE>
