The invention relates to a mounting device for a head restraint of a motor-vehicle seat, which device can be vertically adjusted synchronously with a belt-deflection device associated with a seat-side part pulled up to the level of the head restraint. In the case of a mounting device of this kind, in order for it to be fitted and removed simply whilst allowing a high transmission of forces, the mounting device is designed as a wedge-shaped piece which protrudes from a support holding the belt-deflection device and into which there is fitted a cap arranged at its top end on a flange mounted on its end side on a horizontal arm supporting the head restraint. In order to secure this receptacle, the flange underneath the arm is provided with a fastening means for releasable connection to the support.
