In the case of a screw connecting terminal for electrical conductors, which consists of a clamping body (10) and a clamping screw which engages therein, the clamping body (10) being formed from a sheet-metal strip (11) to produce an essentially rectangular frame body which, at least in the region in which the clamping screw passes through, has two sections (15, 16) which are essentially superimposed parallel to one another and the inner one of which has a necked-down threaded section (20) which projects into the superimposition region of the outer section (15) and possibly forms a bearing pin for a wire protection device which is mounted between the sections (15, 16), and the outer of the mutually superimposed sections (15) being an end section of the sheet-metal strip (11), it is proposed according to the invention that another end section (17) is connected to the inner section (16), which end section (17) is bent around essentially through 90@ in the plane of the adjacent clamping body section (14) and enters a recess (24) in the same, the shape of that end section (17), which is integrally formed on the inner section (16), with respect to the longitudinal centre axis (L) of the clamping body (10) being essentially symmetrical, in a sheet-metal strip longitudinal section of the clamping body, with respect to the longitudinal centre axis (L) of the opposite section (13). This special design makes it possible for the clamping body to absorb relatively high screw forces and the reaction forces associated with them. <IMAGE>
