To handle rolled material, e.g. hay bales, device (1) is attached via brackets (9) to the three point linkage of a tractor. With the device in the pick-up position shown, the tractor is reversed to impale a bale on tyne (17). The linkage is then lifted to transport the bale. To carry the bale over rough terrain the spring-loaded (27) catch (23) is released which allows swinging of the load, under its own weight, about angled axis (X-X) to a position with the free end of the tyne (17) angled upwardly. Further pivoting about axis (X-X) occurs when the linkage is lowered with the tractor moving forward; this will cause unrolling of the bale due to its contact with the ground. The stop (35) contacts arm (13) to prevent over-pivoting of the tyne. Contact of foot (30) with the ground when the tractor is reversed, with the three point linkage lowered, will return the unloaded device to the pick-up position.
|
