<p>Irreversible cell death, particularly irreversible myocardial damage, is detected by detecting the presence in the blood of mRNA specific to that cell and released following irreversible cell damage using a cDNA probe specific to the mRNA to be detected. For myocardial mRNA the cDNA preferably probes for the 3' untranslated region.</p> |
