The invention relates to an arm rest for a motor-vehicle seat which comprises a supporting element and an upper and lower moulding connected to the latter. In order to adapt the arm rest simply to a very wide variety of requirements it is proposed to attach the two mouldings directly to the supporting element and to design them such that they can be exchanged for mouldings which have a functionally different design and/or differently sized design.
