Diesel injection by electro-hydraulically operated cylindrical slide valves

An injection method for diesel engines is proposed, the electro-hydraulically controlled injection valves of which allow the rate of injection to be constantly optimised during operation, the corresponding engine parameters being continuously determined by means of sensors and the rate of injection being, as a result, constantly adjusted to an optimum degree. The injection system is fed from a high stationary pressure, nevertheless varying with the engine parameters. The injection quantity is thereby determined every second and controlled by a central electronics unit. In addition, it is decided here whether fuel is injected by single or multiple injection. The achievement of minimum combustion noise or minimum soot formation are in particular described here as possible control systems.
