Air/waste-gas ducting for gas-fired water heaters with a multi-duct chimney which contains at least one supply-air duct and a waste-gas duct arranged next to it. At the chimney coping, the mouth of the waste-gas duct lies in a plane which is arranged at a certain distance (H) above the end face of the chimney coping or a cover plate fastened on or likewise at a certain distance (h) above the end face of the chimney coping. In an old existing multi-duct chimney, the distance (H) measured between the mouth of the waste-gas duct and the end face of the chimney coping or the cover plate is at least the same size as and preferably larger than the distance (V) between the side wall adjacent to the supply-air duct or the generating line of the waste-gas duct and that side wall or generating line of the chimney coping or the side edge of the cover plate which is adjacent to the side wall remote from the waste-gas duct or the generating line of the supply-air duct. <IMAGE>
