An insulating glass pane for façade building units, windows or the like consists of a plurality of glass panes, of which at least two bound an air-filled interspace and can be regarded with reference to a building, a conservatory or the like as front or rear pane, one pane preferably being constructed as a laminated glass pane (multilayer glass pane). In order to utilise the light which passes through (traverses) the insulating glass pane for generating electrical energy, the insulating glass pane has a photovoltaic solar generator whose solar cells which are interconnected in an electrically conductive manner by connectors are fitted on a glass pane.
