Shuttering, for use in laying concrete, is formed from blocks of expanded polystyrene which fits into cavities in a box-like frame. The frame consists of a board which has on one side an egg-box-like structure in which the thickness of the partitions is sufficient to stop breaking, by vibration, during pouring of the concrete. The frame has small lugs at the top and corresponding cavities at the bottom to allow stacking of the blocks, and stop sliding. The polystyrene blocks or the whole unit may be recovered and re-used.
|
