For the improved and reliable transfer of the maize stalks, it is proposed, in a reaping and drawing-in apparatus for harvesting independently of row cultivation, to arrange the stripping elements for stripping the maize stalks from the drivers of the reaping and drawing-in rollers directly on or in the reaping and drawing-in rollers. The outlay in terms of construction and the space requirement are moreover reduced thereby. Proposed, furthermore, are driving elements which, during rotation, can be lowered in the region facing the chopper.
