<p>A device for connecting a shoe to a bicycle pedal (1) has a plate-like connecting element designed to be fixed to the sole of the shoe. The two lateral edges of said element perpendicular to the axis of the pedal are overlapped by a groove-shaped recess (4, 7) in each of two plate-like jaws (3, 5). The first jaw (3) is designed to be fixed to the pedal (1) and the second jaw (5) is pivotally connected to the first jaw (3) via a swivelling axis perpendicular to the latter in such a way that the distance between the opposed open recesses (4, 7) can be varied. On the first jaw (3), a peg-shaped end section (6) of the pivoting axis projecting above said jaw serves as a stop for the connecting element. The connecting element has a recess in the region of its front edge for receiving the peg-shaped end section (6). Said recess has an edge which can be applied to the end section (6), with which it forms a swivelling bearing for the connecting element.</p> |
