A fastening and compensating device, in particular for substructures, exhibits a fastening element (3) and a retaining element (5). The fastening element (3) is guided through a bore of a moulding (19) of a substructure, and the retaining element (5) engages into a retaining region (21) of the fastening element (3). Consequently, the fastening element (3) is reliably secured in position in its longitudinal direction with respect to the substructure, with the result that unintentional displacement of the already mounted substructure is reliably avoided. By virtue of the simple and releaseable engagement of the retaining element (5), the good capacity for rotation of the fastening element is ensured, on the one hand, and rapid and simple exchange of the fastening element (3) is permitted, on the other hand. <IMAGE>
