EQUALIZER WITH FRACTION NUMBER INTERVAL

PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of calculation and to improve the converging speed by selecting only a required top and applying equalization. CONSTITUTION:A tap selection controller 7 estimates a line at initial setting and decides only the required tap and a tap selection switch 6 selects only the required tap. The required taps in a fraction number interval equalizer are taps having an interval of one over the Nyquist interval (integral number being 2 or over) in the major wave and one bit of delay time before and after the major wave and taps of Nyquist interval in a delay line by delay time apart from the major wave by 2-bit or over. Thus, the timing of the major wave is obtained by line estimation, then the required taps are selected. The tap selection 7 applies control also to a weighting controller 5 to apply gain adjustment sequentially to amplifiers applying the weighting of required taps only among weighting amplifiers 2 thereby reducing the undesired gain adjustment calculation.
